Alpine Bank - Telluride

The Alpine Bank in Telluride, CO was awarded LEED – CI Silver Certification. The interior renovation included many environmentally friendly finishes as well as building system upgrades for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting systems.

The new highly efficient lighting system saves 35% in electrical power compared to the old system while greatly improving lighting quality. The water conserving features result in an incredible 44% savings from previous usage.  Boilers were upgraded to 90%+ efficient, thus greatly reducing natural gas consumption.  The HVAC system saves 30% in energy consumption with zero use of ozone depleting refrigerants. 

The bank’s interior was designed to incorporate materials with recycled content and low VOC finishes.  The carpet is CRI Green Label Plus certified and all paints, coatings and adhesives are low VOC to ensure superior air quality.  In addition, the ceiling heights were raised and complimented with interior partition glazing between spaces and full light doors resulting in 90% of the regularly occupied spaces to have adequate natural lighting and views to the outdoors.  An estimated 50% of demolition and construction waste was diverted from the landfill through donations to charities and recycling efforts.
